LRS + GLPI
A beta release of the LRS inventory module with support for GLPI, a free asset management software, is available.
This new feature, allows automatic data importing in GLPI and in the LRS Inventory, each time inventory data is received. This way, LRS inventory data is perfectly synchronized with GLPI.
The GLPI and LRS integration, constitutes the most powerful free asset management software available for your IT environment, with the following main features : system backup and OS deployment, files backup, application deployment, software and hardware inventory, remote control, and systems life cycle management.
Installation
To quickly try out the new features:
- install a LRS with the bootable ISO image or with the VMware image
- install GLPI 0.68.3 in the /var/www/glpi directory by following the GLPI documentation
- download the latest 'LRS inventory' package here
- install the above package with 'dpkg -i webmin-lrs-inventory_2.1.5_all.deb' on the LRS.
The LRS inventory module is compatible with the OCS-NG inventory agent, and Linbox provides an easy to install inventory agent for Windows.
After the installation, the GLPI database will fill up progressively, as each time a client sends its inventory to the LRS, the GLPI data update is initiated.
