LRS Demo CD for VmWare Player

The VmWare image of the latest LRS release can be found on :

This VmWare image has been built from the very last version of Linbox 
Rescue Server GPL edition. For more information, you can contact us

1. Requirements:

  This VmWare image was built to be used with VmWare Player.  VmWare Player is 
freely downloadable from the following address: 
http://www.vmware.com/download/player

  The image being configured to use 64 MB of RAM and a 10 GB HD, 
we recommend to you to test it on a machine with at least 128 MB of RAM 
and 10 GB available.

  The image is configured as follows:
 - network controller in "bridge" mode
 - MAC addresses fixed at 00:50:56:31:01:79
 - a virtual disk IDE of 9 GB
 - no floppy drive
 - no CD reader

2. Usage:

  This image is provided for evaluation only. The LRS being carried 
with an embedded DHCP server, we recommend you to DISCONNECT YOUR 
NETWORK CABLE before proceeding further.

  Here is the procedure to follow for test this demo image:
 - load and uncompress the VmWare image
 - DISCONNECT YOUR NETWORK CABLE
 - run the VmWare Player
 - open "LRSGPL.vmx"
 - you can answer 'yes' or 'no' to the question 'Would you regenerate the UID' ?
 - start the image
 - during the boot phase, choose the keyboard kind and the network parameters. 
   If you choose something else than the default parameters, it may be 
   necessary to setup the DHCP server.
 - to continue the setup, please have a look to the documentation, chapter 4.

You can also change the LRS default IP address by editing 
/etc/network/interfaces and /etc/dhcp3/dhcpd.conf.
